Mike Bell has a global reputation on aviation risk and safety assessment based on 40 years experience. He was formerly Group Safety Director, and an Executive Board Member of the Civil Aviation Authority where he had specific responsibility for all aspects of safety regulation for the aviation industry and airspace. He is a partner in Reputability.
Experienced in the design of safety cultures and in implementing change, Mike has worked with development teams at every significant aircraft manufacturer in the world, conducting safety evaluations of their products and certifying them for the European market.
After graduating as an aeronautical engineer and training in the Royal Air Force, Mike flew military fighters and later became Chief Test Pilot of the CAA. He is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. In 2009 Mike was awarded a CBE for services to UK civil aviation.
